· Delivering quality care to all community and senior center members that contacts our facility via visitation, phone call, or email
· Securing donations for planned programing and events
· Welcoming and registering new members
· Communicating event reminders to senior center members
· Providing information about healthy living and recipes that are beneficial to seniors via virtual and in person classes
· Assisting with day trips, events, programs, classes, meetings, crafts, game schedules, activities, designed to meet SCOPE center of excellence standards
· Provide quality time and patience with members while connecting them with needed community resources
· Retrieve proper waiver required for daily trips completed by participants
· Assist with meal preparation for center events
· Assist with travel and transportation, following all travel and safety policies
· Assisting facility director in flexible manner as center situations and member needs arise
· Assisting in creating a safe and inviting space for all visitors and participants
· Orient new volunteers to procedures and equipment as needed.
· Ensure coverage at the reception area.
· Keep on file the various blank forms needed for center activities; distribute them as needed to volunteers and participants
· Responsible for ensuring volunteers are appropriately directed in center responsibilities and member and visitor interaction
· Maintain confidentiality about any information relating to clients that is learned in connection with performance of any agency functions.

General Statement of Duties
Performs responsible skilled and routine technical work in the operational, laboratory, and maintenance functions of the water treatment plant.
Distinguishing Features of the Class
An employee in this class performs a variety of operational, laboratory, and maintenance duties designed to produce safe treatment of potable water. Work is performed on an assigned or rotating shift. Work includes monitoring the plant's operation through observation, mechanical readings and the results of standard chemical and biological tests and to make necessary adjustments in the process as conditions or test results dictate. Other duties include performing standard laboratory duties and tests and assisting with plant and facilities maintenance. Work also includes substantial record keeping of work activities. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Water Plant Superintendent.

· Performs general preventive and scheduled maintenance; assists on major maintenance and repairs
· Regulates and adjusts pumps, motors, valves, and other apparatus to meet changing operating conditions

· General knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and permitting requirements

Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform the basic life functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must possess the visual acuity to read gauges, dials, and observe moving parts of machines, and to record and review written records.
Working Conditions
Employees are subject to hazards associated with water plant operations including working both inside and outside environments, in extreme hot and cold weather. Employee is also exposed to various hazards such as loud noises, moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation, oils, and working in small spaces. Workers may be required to wear respirators when working around chlorine tanks. Work is also subject to OSHA standards on bloodborne pathogens.
Education and Experience
Graduation from high school or GED equivalency supplemented by course work in chemistry, biology, and math. Some experience in the operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment, preferably in a water treatment plant; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
· Valid NC driver’s license
· Water Operator Grade “C” certification issued by the State of North Carolina

Job Summary
An employee in this class participates in the work of a crew engaged in digging and back filling ditches, laying and calking cast iron, concrete, or terracotta pipe for water and sewer service, making service connections, moving and setting water meters, valves, and hydrants. Employee also participates in repairing streets and sidewalks and constructing new sidewalks. Work involves emergency call-back service rotation, as well as working in confined spaces. Work is performed under general supervision of the Assistant Public Works Director.
Responsibilities
· Operates tractor and ditching equipment to excavate ditches in water/sewer maintenance and construction
· Operates a backhoe to fill ditches, and remove dirt, rubbish, and other materials in specific areas
· Operates backhoe to excavate underground electrical cable
· Services construction equipment with gas, oil, and grease
· May drive a pickup or other truck to transport personnel and materials to and from work sites
· Operates construction equipment in close proximity to other utilities
· Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment
· Performs various other equipment operation duties in the repair and installation of piping for water and sewer utilities
· Drives a dump truck to haul and distribute dirt, sand, and gravel
· Drives a variety of crew vehicles and trucks in the specific area of responsibility

An employee in this class performs a full range of general law enforcement duties. An employee in this class participates in the operations of fire suppression and emergency medical services on an assigned shift. The employee performs a variety of technical, procedural, and regulatory methods and techniques relating to fire suppression and prevention, rescue, first aid, and equipment and apparatus operation. Responds to emergency situations requiring emergency medical attention and performs duties of an EMT. Acquires and maintains required State certification for Firefighter I and EMT.
